January Currently, Christmas Cheer, and a Sale!

Holy cow, it's January!  I can't believe how fast 2013 went!  I am sure that everybody has said that, but that's probably because it is true!

Anyway, I am ringing in the new year and the new month with one of my favorite blogposts, the Currently!

Listening:  While at my Grandma's house over Christmas, my dad turned on the Breaking Bad Marathon on A&E.  Oops.  I hadn't seen Breaking Bad (yes, I live under a rock!) and now I need to see the rest of it!  Apparently all but the last 8 episodes are on Netflix, so I am going to renew my membership so I can watch them.  :-)

Loving:  I have a rough class this year, and they are really wearing me out!  I have been so glad to have some time off.  I haven't really gotten much done, as I was out of town all of last week, but now that I'm back, I've already managed to knock out a few things, including the Kindergarten ELA "I Can" Statements!  I can't wait to see what else I can get accomplished this week!

Thinking:  I am so excited about sushi with Laura!  I love sushi, and it has been awhile since we've gone, so I can't wait!

Wanting:  I know I am not the only one who is obsessed with a TV show and can't rest until they've watched it.  I'm the same way with books- I will read them until I finish, even if it means staying up all night!

Needing:  I guess I am getting too old for this "staying up late" stuff, because I am soooooo tired!  I went to a friend's house for NYE last night, and we stayed up super late playing Cards Against Humanity.  I won!  ;-)  By the time I got home and went to bed, it was like 5am.  So now I'm sleepy!

Memory:  When I was a kid, we were never allowed to just go downstairs on Christmas morning.  My sister and I would wake up our parents, and they would go downstairs to set up the video camera and wait for us.  We would wait so impatiently at the top of the stairs until it was time.  Then they would say "go!" and we
would rush down the stairs to see what Santa brought us.  Then, when my little sister was born, we would still wait with her at the top of the stairs until they called us, even though Santa didn't bring Kristen or I gifts anymore.  But this Christmas, there was no Santa.  I woke up and went downstairs.  Lauryn, my 14 year old sister, woke up a few minutes later and came down too.  Dad and mom were already downstairs, and mom was cooking breakfast.  When it was time to eat, we called Kristen downstairs to eat.  Then we opened presents.  It was so... anticlimactic.  I guess Christmas sort of loses its magic when there are no kids around. :-(

But overall, this was a pretty good Christmas.  I can't complain!

My dog Molly was forced against her will to bring in Christmas Cheer. :-)

And since it is New Years Day, and because I LOVE sales (shopping and throwing them!), I am having an AWESOME sale at my TPT store today only!  If you follow me on Facebook, then you already know this, I hope. :-)

I am offering 50% off of my ENTIRE STORE today only!  :-)  That includes everything in my store, even my "I Can" Statements bundles, and even my new Kindergarten ELA "I Can" Statements!

Happy New Year to you!  You can find my store here.

  1. I hear ya on being obsessed with a TV show. We just started watching Scandal over break and have been going to sleep after midnight for the last 3 days. I am running on empty with two kids who get up at 6 AM. I have to check out that Cards for Humanity game. We played Apples to Apples all the time in college. Looks super fun!

    1. Cards against Humanity is good if you have a wicked sense of humor. If you're easily offended, it's not the game for you! :-) I've never watched Scandal- I really try not to get hooked on TV shows if I can help it!

  2. I only got through the first three shows of Breaking Bad. My husband loved that show! Maybe I will give it another try. I've also enjoyed being able to get some things done on this long break from school!

  3. We just started Breaking Bad over the break too! I'm hooked! My sisters and brother and I used to have to wait at the top of the stairs until my parents said it was ok too! I miss those days! :) Your pup is the cutest!!!

    1. Thanks! I love my Molly! :-)

I read someone else today that said they also had to wait at the top of the stairs for their parents to let them come down. I think it's great. They also said they got pictures together before they came down. Maybe something I have to do with my own children if I ever have them! :-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one hooked on Breaking Bad!
