Monday Made It!

This is my first Monday Made It!  I have been thrilled to have time to work on a few things around the house  since I finally finished my summer grad school classes, and I have been going a little crazy with spray paint.  I hope that "Monday Made It!" can be "Monday Made Over!"

To prove my "I've been going a little crazy with spray paint" point, here is just some of the spray paint I purchased.  Yes, I said some.

I have a really fun idea for a chandelier, so I went on a search for the perfect old chandelier.  My city is lucky enough to have TWO Habitat Re-Stores, so I checked both of them out.  The first one didn't have anything that I could use, so I tried the other, newer, bigger one.  I hit the jackpot.  Not only did they have a chandelier that I could use, they had multiple chandeliers in my price range!

I chose this one because I liked the little cups underneath the candles, the candles point up, and there is no glass on it!  I considered one that had little glass globes that were around the candles, but I almost knocked one off and broke it, so I decided that probably wouldn't be the best idea.  So this one won!

(I also got a much needed queen sized bed frame for $10!  Yay!  Maybe I can show it off in my next Monday Made It!)

So I cleaned all the dust off of it and used a liquid deglosser to help the paint adhere to the chandelier.  Then I hung my chandelier up from a makeshift hanger I made out of 3 pieces of wood.  Then I spray painted it with Rustoleum spray paint.  I used the paint and primer in one, so I didn't have to prime it.  Rock on!  I did 3 light coats of spray paint.

I LOVE IT.  The green is going to be perfect!

I can't wait for you to see what I do with this!  (Heck, I can't wait to see what I do with this!  I just need a second set of hands to put it up!)

I hope you have been working on some fun things for your home or classroom this summer!  I love having time to work on some fun projects!

    1. Thanks! I can't wait until I can get someone (aka my dad!) to help me hang it up! I can't wait to see it.

  2. We must live in the same town because ALL those colors are sold out at like every store! :) I am dying to get ahold of that Krylon Bahama Sea color- is it like teal?

    1. Yeah, the Krylon Bahama Sea is a teal-ish color. Like a faded teal, I suppose. It's very pretty. I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby, and I am pretty sure they are the only store that carries it because I haven't seen it elsewhere!
