Currently February

Again, I'm a little late for the party, but I'm linking up with my February Currently!  I love doing these, and I love reading what other people have to say as well!

Listening:  I'm watching Full House because it was on when I turned on the TV.  I'm too lazy to change it.  I wish life was as easy as it is on Full House!!!

Loving:  I got this huge (60x80) sock monkey throw from my Grandma for Christmas, and I swear, it may have been my favorite Christmas gift!  I use it all the time because it's huge and warm!  It's covering up my cold feet right now.  I often have to fight the dog for it. :-)

Molly stealing my blanket.

Thinking:  My throat has been strained for like 2-3 weeks now.  It's not sore, just strained.  I figured I was getting sick.  Well, last week, I was sick.  I had sinusitis.  The doctor gave me an antibiotic and a steroid and told me to take Sudafed.  I am still having a hard time shaking the stuffy nose, and my throat is hurting again today.  I'm not sure why...  I'm wondering if I should be concerned.  Why would my throat hurt this long for no reason?  (And I went to the doctor last week, so if I had strep or something, I would think she would have noticed then!)

Wanting:  Our 100th day of school is on Wednesday, and the other first grade teachers and I are supposed to dress up as 100 year olds.  The problem is, I have nothing to wear!  I don't know what to do!  I figured I could get a pair of reading glasses from the dollar store and smash out the lenses, but I need a skirt of some sort and a shaw or cardigan that would look like something a 100 year old woman would wear!  I may need to make a stop at Goodwill tomorrow, even though I really don't want to!  Thank goodness for my dryer...  ha ha ha!

Needing:  Don't we all need more hours in the day?  I have homework to do for grad school, I have things to do around the house, I have things to work on for work... I have a difficult time balancing all of those things, and I don't have kids or a significant other!  I can't even imagine!

Pet Peeves:  I have to agree with Farley on the lying pet peeve too!  The kids all know that you don't lie to me.  The punishment will be so much worse, because I WILL find out.  If I catch someone lying, I move their color twice instead of once.  If you are truthful, there's a chance I might actually let you not move for being honest.  Honesty is the best policy!  This goes for life too... I hate being lied to.  I WILL find out.

I also can't STAND it when people drive and they don't use a blinker.  Nothing gets under my skin more than someone in a brand new freaking Mercedes pulling out in front of you without a blinker, or stopping in the middle of the road to make a turn without letting you know why they're stopping!  If my 11 year old Honda has a d#$& blinker, then you should too!  LEARN TO USE IT!  There is this turn on my way to work where you turn at the light, and there is a Denny's on the right corner as soon as you turn.  So many people don't turn on their blinker, but then they stop to turn right into the parking lot.  I swear, I'm going to get hit there some day because of this.  It makes me crazy!

I also can't stand people who can't spell.  Particularly people who can't tell the difference between their/there/they're, your and you're, then and than, etc...  I also can't stand when people type possible for possibly... learn the difference!!!  There are several other little grammatical errors that get under my skin, but those are a few of the major ones!  I realize we all make mistakes, but... grrrrrrr!

I'm linking up to Farley's Currently here!

I have to go get prepared for the 100th day of school!  It's not until Wednesday, but I want to be prepared! I also can't find the t-shirt I made for my sock monkey last year on the 100th day, and I want him to make an appearance! :-(  I guess I better go look for it...  I'll post a picture if I find it!

  1. I can't stand drivers who come up the side of a turn only lane and expect you to let them in at the front. Even with their blinkers. RUDE.

Have you seen the YouTube interview #kidpresident did with Dave Coulier? Funny!

For a sore throat one needs ice cream and popsicles.

    1. Oh yeah, that makes me crazy too! Most of those lanes are marked, so people need to pay attention!!! RUDE is right!

No, I haven't seen that. I'll have to look that up!

It's so cold, I don't want ice cream! All I want is hot tea, hot cocoa, and stuff like that. Not that any of that has helped one little bit.

  2. Speaking of drivers, I can't stand a backseat driver! I have a dear friend who is Queen of backseat drivers! It makes me insane!

    1. Oh I can't stand that either! I'd rather just let someone else drive, though, and I don't care how they drive as long as I'm not! I hate driving because I'm an angry driver.

Yeah, I'm thinking I might need to see a doctor now that my throat is starting to hurt again. :-( I was just there last week; they might get to know me by name!

I'm going to go check out your blog now! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Hey there--I'm here from Farley's link up! I second the popsicles for a sore throat! They are miracle workers for me. I often look back at times when I thought I wasn't that sick and think, "Gosh, I was pretty sick. I should have stayed home!" so you take care of yourself!

    1. One of the teachers at work said "Why are you here if you feel that badly?" to me on Monday or Tuesday of last week. However, I didn't feel sick enough to stay home, just not 100% myself, you know? I feel the same way now... not sick enough to stay home! I really don't like popsicles that much except on a hot summer day- how about a nice smoothie or milkshake instead? (I saw McDonalds has their Shamrock Shake again... that might help!)

Thanks, I'll try to take care of myself! And thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment!

  5. I grew up watching Full House. My girls watch it sometimes. :) I hope your throat gets to feeling better. I agree with Ms. O, you need ice cream and a few popsicles.
